Fridays, a Threshold

Fridays are more than just a gateway to the weekend—they’re a pause between what was and what’s about to unfold. In my latest poem, “Fridays, a Threshold,” I explore the calm exhale after a long week and the spark of anticipation for what lies ahead. (Yes – TGIF!) Whether you crave silence or adventure, Fridays hum with untold possibilities. Let this poem take you to that liminal space where your ordinary workday fades and the extraordinary begins. Happy Friday everyone!

Fridays hum beneath twilight’s breath,
a silver cusp between toil and dream.
Winds of release murmur through open streets,
where shadows stretch long, like tired hours
discarded under city lights.

Whispers of distant oceans call—
not with waves, but with promises of pause.
Skies unravel in hues of plum and ember,
while hearts unclench,
their weights tumbling like loose stars.

The night hums: be still, or become.
Laughter flares in spirals,
a thousand stories unborn yet aching.

Footsteps blur between thresholds—
doorways, taverns, moonlit woods.
Some seek flame, some silence,
all seek something forgotten, or waiting.

Fridays arrive not as endings
but invitations—
echoing pulse of dreams
just waking.
